Outsourcing Myths Shattered: My Personal Experience!

Outsourcing of late has been associated with lots of negative press and publicity. However you will not know the truth till you venture to the field yourself. So I decided to plunge headlong to this field. Initially everyone cautioned me about the pitfalls of outsourcing and tried to discourage me from undertaking it. I thank myself for not listening to them. Cant imagine how much opportunity I would have missed out on.

I run an accounting firm with a group of accountants working under me. Tax season sees heavy rush from my customers for tax return preparation, federal income tax preparation and many more aspects of bookkeeping and accounting. Outsourcing bookkeeping and accounting has come as a great boon for accounting firms. Though accounting and bookkeeping is a tiresome and time consuming process, some one has to do the work.

I have found accountants in India to be very proficient and hardworking doing the time consuming work for me. Accounting outsourcing has dual benefit for any outsourcing firm. First of all you are able to get highly trained professionals at a substantially lower cost to do the accounting and bookkeeping work for you. Secondly due to the

Bowling Balls : Choosing the Right Coverstock

Bowling balls are available in a variety of coverstocks, top weights, pin locations, weight blocks and more. Choosing the proper bowling ball to best suit your game can prove to be a challenge. Fortunately, there are quite a few resources available online to research your bowling ball decision.

Below, is a brief breakdown of how the coverstock of a bowling ball can determine the reaction of the bowling ball on a specific lane condition.

Coverstocks refer to the surface of the bowling ball. For example, most bowling balls will have either a dull surface or a shiny surface. From the manufacturer, the new bowling ball will already have this characteristic. However, you can alter the surface to your liking by adding a bowling ball polish to the ball or simply dulling the surface by using a dulling compound or even a scotch brite pad.

When a bowling ball is shiny, the reaction of the bowling ball tends to have more length before it reaches the breakpoint and hooks. When it is dull, the ball will roll up earlier, giving the appearance of more hook. In reality, the bowling ball just reaches it’s breakpoint sooner when it is dull compared

Will There Be A Boom In Eye Diseases As Boomers Turn 60?

In a year where an estimated 2.8 million baby boomers will celebrate their 60th birthday, age-related eye disease has become an important health issue.

The American Optometric Association (AOA) reminds Americans 60 and older that early detection through a comprehensive eye exam can prevent or slow vision loss due to cataracts and other age-related eye diseases, such as macular degeneration, glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy.

“Today’s 60-year-olds are more health conscious than 60-year-olds 20 years ago,” said Richard C. Edlow, O.D., AOA information and data committee chairman. “Being better informed about health risks, improved technology and treatment options has not necessarily translated into including regular eye examinations into their health care routine.”

The National Eye Institute estimates that over the next 30 years, the number of blind or visually impaired Americans will double. Some eye diseases have no symptoms in the early stages, when it is most critical to help slow the progression of vision loss.

The AOA developed the Baby Boomer’s Checklist for Healthy Vision. Are you:

Someone with diabetes, hypertension or any other systemic or chronic disease?

• At risk for certain systemic or eye diseases because of family history or other

Teenage Stress And Anxiety

Stress and anxiety levels in teenagers have drastically increased over the last few decades. As the responsibilities of the world around them lay on their shoulders heavier, more and more teens are facing health problems both on the physical and on the emotional sides. As a parent, it is hard to handle these conditions or often even know that your teens are facing them. Many times, it is easy to chalk up the teenage stress and anxiety a child is facing as just normal teen problems. Yet, serious conditions are often present and should be addressed as quickly as possible.

Why Teens Suffer From Anxiety

Teens, just like adults will suffer from anxiety as well as from stress from several reasons. First, these conditions can be hereditary, and they can have a much greater likelihood of this happening to them if their parents have had conditions such as anxiety.

For the most part, teens and children who suffer from anxiety and from stress have factors in their lives that push them in that direction. For example, they may be faced with things like divorce of their parents, stressors at school and even peer pressure. Although most parents

California Sports Logo

In early 2003, not long after the Anaheim Angels had captured the AFL championship, their new owner, Mr. Moreno, decided to change their name. Pointing to marketing considerations, he wanted to change the name to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. He did not push for a change in the team logo.

That logo had long been a red A. A blue halo was embroidered over the top of that A. Moreno did not make any move to change that logo. Yet some of the residents of Anaheim designed a special type of logo. Their logo was designed to be used as a form of protest.

In order to understand the protests of the Anaheim residents, one must learn something about the Angels. That team had first played in Los Angeles, and had once before been called the Los Angles Angels. In the 1960s the team moved to Anaheim, CA, and it then changed its name to the California Angels. The Disney Company bought the team from Gene Autry in 1997, and it named the team the Anaheim Angels.

So for close to six years the City of Anaheim had benefited from the Angels new name. The

Importance Of Technology Changes In Business Computing

The importance of keeping up with changes in business computing and technology can be more important over time as your business grows. As and an IT professional far too often I have seen many small businesses get way too far behind in computing technology and wonder why they should pay for the upgrades. Usually I have to explain to them the hard way that the current computers system that are over 4 years old are not going to perform the requested task very well and are not supported by software. Usually do to combination of software changes and incompatibility with older software and hardware platforms that cause issues. I explain that it actually will cost them more money in the long run to try and maintain there existing computer equipment then buy a new replacement.

Most small businesses fail to recognize that keep computer equipment very long periods actually can cost them more money to maintain those systems then the price of a replacement. One cost is the amount if money you pay out for replacement parts when there is no warranty on the old device. If the computer, server or printer is made by a specific manufacture then

The Right Time to Buy or Sell a Business

Copyright @ 2006 Peter Arkwright

Buying a business especially your first one can be a daunting proposition; this article will discuss the merits of when is the right time to buy. Timing is everything when buying a business, you can either time it well and buy good business for a low price or time it wrong and pay an over inflated price for a poor business. So when is the right time to buy?

Generally you should plan well in advance for the sale of any business. With so many economic upturns and downturns it is impossible to predict the future. By planning well in advance you and your workforce will be prepared for the sale of the business in the future.

It would be better for any seller to sell a business when the sector you are in is thriving. If the business sector you are in is looking good for the future this will allow you to ask an over inflated price for your businesses. However saying this more shrewd business men prefer to buy businesses in an economic decline. The reasons for this are businesses are usually purchased at bargain prices, also during economic

Online Pharmacies: Shopping With Convenience and Privacy

Consumers are increasingly replacing a trip to the corner drugstore with a click onto the Internet where there are hundreds of web sites selling prescription drugs. There are a lot of consumers who simply do not have the patience to wait at the doctor’s office for hours just to get a refill of prescription medicines that they need right away. Some do not even have the time to even make an appointment with the doctor. In fact, there are people who lack the ability to go to the doctor every time they are in need of refill due to transportation, work, or health reasons, and if one has a computer, one does not need to go through so much hassles.

Why and How to Measure Your Body Fat Percentage

Copyright 2006 Lynn VanDyke

Your body fat percentage is one of the best indicators of your fitness and nutrition program. Many people weigh themselves and judge their results on the bathroom scale. However there is one major problem with using the scale to determine your progress.

The best way to illustrate this is by using an example. Lets say you have been working out for a month now. You initially weighed 160 pounds. You weigh yourself this morning and you are 157 pounds. Your cannot believe that youve only lost three pounds! You become frustrated and want to give up.

The scale shows that you lost three pounds, but it does not tell you if you lost fat or muscle. Testing your body fat percentage will tell you how much fat you lost and how much muscle youve gained. You see even though the scale says you lost three pounds, you could have lost 8 pounds of fat and gained 5 pounds of muscle. That would equal a net loss of 3 pounds.

As a trainer, I always test my clients body fat percentage. There are three main ways to measure body fat. They are calipers,
